Certified Veterinary Technician

Stockton Pet Hospital has a legacy of offering compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care to our family of clients. We are looking for an outstanding, experienced, positive veterinary technician capable of carrying on our tradition and working with our great team.

Licenses and Certifications Required: Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT)

Experience Required: 5 years working as a veterinary technician including as a surgical technician. Prefer candidates that have some experience in an emergency or specialty environment.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Excellent client communication skills. Candidate must know and be able to communicate complex medical issues as well as preventative medical standards to clients.
  • Perform blood draws, place IV catheters, run in house diagnostics including CBC’s, chemistries, lateral flow assays, radiographs, and urine and fecal analysis.
  • Surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring.
  • Outstanding, compassionate care for our hospitalized patients.
  • Initial evaluation of patients including vitals and collection of thorough patient history. Candidate must be able to work with a broad spectrum of clients
  • Conform to all medical and safety protocols
  • Perform proper and safe animal restraint
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Filling prescriptions accurately
  • Conduct client call backs professionally
  • Audit medical charts
  • Assist clients accessing community resources
  • Must understand the importance of working with colleagues to integrate our services for the best medical care of the patient, the best customer service experience for the client, and the most efficient operation of the clinic

Veterinary Technician

Salary: $20 to $25 per hour based on experience

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, lab forms, and mailings for reference laboratories
  • Surgical preparation, anesthetic monitoring, and recovery
  • Prepare surgical packs and maintain surgical equipment
  • Outstanding, compassionate care for our hospitalized patients.
  • Initial evaluation of patients including vitals and collection of thorough patient history. Candidate must be able to work with a broad spectrum of clients
  • Conform to all medical and safety protocols
  • Perform proper and safe animal restraint

Qualifications: We will equally consider individuals who have equivalent experience to formally certified veterinary technicians. Previous experience in clinical experience of at least 1 year.

Veterinary Receptionist

Salary: $15 to $18 per hour based on experience

We are looking for compassionate customer service representatives who will treat our family of clients with care and support our growing small animal practice in Lakewood, CO. You will be responsible for directing our patients and their families to getting the best care we can offer at our clinic. At our practice, we build strong relationships with our family of clients by taking care of not just their pet, but the entire family. Your compassionate communication skills and attention to detail are critical to the success of this mission.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients medical records, preparation, and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, fulfilling over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, preparation of end of period reports, preparing daily reconciliation reports, filing, following established protocols, front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists must possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multitasking and ability to follow hospital protocols is essential.

Skills Required: Expertise with veterinary software programs. Excellent customer service skills. Medical record management. Follow-up and follow-through with clients and professional staff.

Veterinary Assistant

Salary: $15 to $18 per hour based on experience and education

Stockton Pet Hospital has a legacy of offering compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care to our family of clients. Our hospital has a proud history of 50 years of outstanding service to our community. We are looking for a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to support our growing small animal practice in Lakewood CO. You will be responsible for assisting the veterinary staff in examining and monitoring patients, performing administrative tasks, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the clinic and kennels. Weekend work is required. Our ideal candidate is willing to learn new skills and advance their career. You must have a passion for caring for animals and excellent customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in holding and restraining animals during exams and surgical procedures
  • Assist in collecting samples such as blood or urine for testing
  • Running diagnostic samples using our in-house diagnostic equipment
  • Assisting with taking radiographs
  • Restraining animals for blood draws and IV catheter placement.
  • Care for animals by bathing, feeding, watering, and exercising
  • Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and sanitized every day
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools
  • Ensure exam and operating rooms are stocked and sterilized
  • Ensure all cages and kennels are clean
  • Administer medications
  • Communicate with owners and families on surgery and recovery instructions
  • Perform administrative duties such as updating files and processing payments

Experience Required:

  • 1 year of experience in animal care or clinic environment
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Basic understanding of animal behavior and health care
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Attention to detail
  • Physical ability to restrain pets when necessary
  • Able to work weekends, extended hours, and holidays
